The best-known rice brand Tsuyahime is produced in Yamagata prefecture. The Tsuyahime has been receiving the highest grade of “Special A” for 6 years in a row compiled by the Japan Grain Inspection Association since its debut in 2020. This brand of rice, raised only by select approved farmers and used in top-class restaurants, its truly fit to represent Japan. Shiny, sticky, sweet and bigger grains, it tastes delicious even after it cools down. In various blind taste tests, it has been found to have the perfect sweetness, texture, umami and fragrance. Tsuyahime uses about 5 times less pesticides than regular rice.
